On September 10th 2024, the Department of Care launched the updated version of the Rights Explorer. This website provides a convenient overview of all social rights at the federal, Flemish, provincial, and local levels. For aid and care providers, this is an indispensable tool to inform citizens in Flanders about financial benefits, free services, and other social rights.
The social rights are sourced from the Intergovernmental Products and Services Catalog (IPDC) and the Local Products and Services Catalog (LPDC), ensuring the information is always up-to-date and reusable. Each local authority can contribute to populating the new Rights Explorer.
The new Rights Explorer was developed in collaboration with the Rights Explorer working group of the Knowledge Center for Flemish Cities. The working group members jointly considered the usability of LPDC product sheets and machine-readable conditions and were involved as pilots in the input and testing of the first versions of the Rights Explorer. After the launch, the working group continues to actively work on establishing sustainable processes for entering and keeping the rights in the Rights Explorer up-to-date. Concrete agreements about this collaboration were laid down in the City Deal Rights Explorer, an implementation agreement concluded between the central cities, the Department of Care, the Agency for Home Affairs, Digital Flanders, VVSG, and the Knowledge Center for Flemish Cities.
All information about the new Rights Explorer can be found here, and the Rights Explorer itself can be found here. (In Dutch)
