VMM and the City of Roeselare Unite for Clean Air

Cities and municipalities are well-positioned to implement local measures to improve air quality. However, choosing the right measure for the right location is a challenge and is best done based on data.

VMM supported the City of Roeselare in drafting their air quality policy plan. Hot spots were identified and solutions evaluated by using the ‘screening tool’ and ‘scenario tool’ developed in the EU LIFE project CityTraq.

Screening Tool:
 

• Interactive exploration of air quality model maps
• Identification of locations with poor air quality

Scenario Tool:
 

• Impact calculation based on emission and mobility modeling
• Comparison of different policy scenarios
