Taking steps with digital twins, Leiedal proves yet again it wishes to remain a forerunner in the field of digital transformation. A virtual representation of reality, a digital twin leads to better insights and decisions based on data rather than gut feeling. Deploying these digital models as the standard for spatial projects and processes in its 13 municipalities, Leiedal aims to speed up decision-making on spatial projects such as urban development, the renovation of neighbourhoods or traffic interventions, and at the same time make it better and more transparent. By way of use cases, training and cooperation with education institutes, Leiedal intends to raise the region’s knowledge of digital twins to a higher level. This is made possible through European support within the Interreg NWE Twin4Resilience project.
